I started playing music at the age of seven when I took my first violin lessons. Since then, I’ve explored a wide range of genres, including classical music, Irish fiddle tunes, folk rock, live looping, and more.
I’ve been singing my whole life, and I’ve been playing guitar and ukulele for over a decade. On guitar, my favorite styles are classical, fingerstyle, flamenco, and folk.
Currently, I’m in the process of recording my second solo album, and I regularly perform with several groups in the Portland area, as well as under my solo act, Bex Beloved.
For me, live music is all about creating an experience with the audience. Whether I’m DJing a high-energy dance party or doing a relaxed violin looping set, I always find that listening to the crowd and tapping into the energy of the room can bring the most electric moments to life and take the party to a whole new level.
That’s part of the reason I started incorporating electric violin into my DJ sets. Adding that live element really elevates the experience, and I love putting my own spin on classic songs. I’ll do whatever it takes to get people vibing on the dance floor—and sometimes, an electric fiddle is exactly what’s needed.
I’m really excited to be part of the JR Collective and to bring my years of experience in live performance and sound engineering to create some very special events.
